Huh, its been nearly a year since i last wrote a blog, that's ridiculous. I feel i should wait for 3 days so i can blog exactly a year later but that would just make me a geek and i would probably forget 8-]
Do not fear, im not gonna recap my year, as there wouldnt really be much to say and would only reveal how sad my life was during the second year of IB. So lets skip, 362 days to what happened today.
I started work at 4am (who knew such a time existed before working at the aiport, because it really shouldn't >_<) where there was the longest queue ever, and i thought 'Oh god it is gonna be one of those days'. However, my career as a psychic will be ruined as i discovered it was not, i actually had quite a good day. The first eventful thing of the day was a rather charismatic and charming man (maybe overly so) ordering a cappuccino (lucky i only have to make them and not spell them =s) who spoke to everyone, but in their own language. It was quite amazing, he asked where one of my colleagues was from [bulgaria] than began to speak to her in bulgarian, then guessed another was Polish and began to speak to her in Polish, and is apparently off to Russia to learn Russian, unbelievable aye?! I wish i had such an aptitude for language, sadly not.
Then, a gentleman came up in a stripy polo shirt with the harlequins emblem on and i thought, ' wonder if thats a rugby shirt' but mentioned no more. Then m'colleague said to me, 'oh there's a lot of men in stripy shirts over there' and i thought maybe it is sometihng to do with rugby, maybe a youth team or something of the sort. Then when i was sitting on my break four of the men in striped shirts walked past and i looked at them and thought, yeah they look like rugby players. There was however a burning in my brain as i recognised the one closest to me in the line. I couldn't quite figure out how i knew them or why i recognised them an then it struck me....It was Mike Brown, Harlequins and England full-back, i could not believe it, i was totally starstruck (what a geek aye?! 8-p). And then the whole senior squad walked past, most mnotably Rory Clegg. I really wa awe-struck i was in mobbing distance of England internationals, it was pretty awesome! But i love how down to earth rugby players were, if they were footballers there is no way they would check in with the commoners.
And Oh My Gawd, i served the most awkward woman today. She asked for a flatbread, and when i asked her if she wanted it toasted she said not, when i told her it would probably be made better toasted she said 'but im taking it away to eat later', so i offered maybe she should have something else. I recommend a cheese and tomato baguette, closest to what was in her flatbread, wrapped it up and put it in a bag for her and then she changed her mind, back to the flatbread. She took her flatbread and returned two minutes later to ask to have it toasted as it taste odd not toasted (like i said it would) and then specifically asked if i could not touch it with my hands once it had come off the toaster. I couldnt not believe it, she then moaneed that she had made the wrong choice, to which i kept my mouth shut as i had led her to a better chouce to take away and she ignored. Grrr, some people. But i was polite and smiled while she made me run round after her.
Anywhooo, i feel that a nap may be about to overtake me. Im gonna go back and read all my old blogs too and see how pointless and awful they are.
